One of the most common misconceptions people have about Fitsom is that we are a gym. Well, we are here to tell you that that is most certainly not the case! Yes, Fitsom did start as your typical Crossfit style bootcamp gym in 2011, but over time we were noticing our clients were hitting more setbacks than goals due to stiffness, tightness, and injuries. That is how we have come to evolve into what we are known for so uniquely today, and that is teaching our clients simple tools so that they can be more resilient in the face of pain, stress and anxiety.

Today, we work diligently to personalize an experience for every individual that walks through our doors. Whether it is helping someone to heal from muscular and postural issues, or guiding someone through the process of optimizing their performance via means of our movement classes or breathing techniques like the Wim Hof Method, we pride ourselves in being flexible and teaching people how to properly take care of their bodies in a way that is specific to them.

Starting with developing a healthy mindset, our four pillars are absolutely pivotal in finding success inside our studio and out in day to day life. We teach different forms of breath work to control the nervous system under stressful situations and add in self myo-fascial release to loosen up the body and release tension where it counts. Lastly, we incorporate movement into our client’s routine to retension the body and tie everything back together.

At the end of the day, we see ourselves as teachers in a world of constantly developing ideas in the wellness industry. We use science to back our practice and to help prevent our clients from extra visits to the doctor and help ensure they never get to the point where they are struggling just to live in their own skin.
